SP2010 Content Type

Content Types means templates having metadata means Data about the data.

Ex1 : Browser ---> Shared /any document if we click on new document it will open an empty blank document. But i want my company logo document would be open When i click on new document.

   PageLayout ---> 
   Goto the page layout ---> 
   Design --->
   Custom watermark ---> 
   Add company title [Abc Company] ---> 
   OK ---> 
   Insert --->
   Header --->
   Add header and footer as your requirement --->
   Save As ---> WordTemplate [Doc1Temp] 

* Open the browser ---> 
   Goto Any site [Marketing] --->
   SiteActions ---> SiteSettings --->
   Galleries --->
   SiteContentTypes --->
   Create --->

 Name : ABC SRS
 Desc : ABC SRS Document
 Parent Content Type : 
 Select Parent Type from : Document Content Type / List Content Type 
 Parent Content Type : Document
 Group : Existing group / New group [ABC Mor Grp] ---> OK

 click on Advanced Settings ---> 
 Document template:   select  'Upload a new document template' ---> Browse ---> 
Select 'Doc1Temp' ---> 
Open -->
 doc1temp added now click on --> OK

* Our template is added. Now go to any one of the site [Sec Market] ---> Create New Document Library [Mydocs] ---> 
Library ---> 
Settings ---> 
Library Settings ---> 

Now you will watch 4 sections only those are 
 1. List Information  2. General Settings 
 3.Columns   4. View

Now under General Settings ---> 
Advanced Settings --->
Content Types : 
    Allow Management of Content Types : Yes / No select Yes ---> OK

Now you will watch 5 sections only those are 
 1. List Information  2. General Settings 
 3.Content Types***  4.Columns  5. View

Under Content Types ---> 
   click on 'Add from existing site content types' ---> 
   Select Content Types : Select Site content type from : ABC Mor Grp
 Available site content types : ABC SRS ---> 
        Add ---> OK

Now go to MyDocs ---> Documents --> New Document ---> 2 document types displayed. 1 is default and another one is ABC SRS [our doc1temp].
